Hotel recommendations in Annecy??

I am driving from Lake Como to Beaune, and I am planning an overnight stop in Annecy. Any hotel suggestions. Preferably centrally located, with parking, and charming? Thanks.

Or does it make more sense to just stop for a lunch and a walk around, then on to Beaune?

We love Annecy and really think it's worth much more than a lunch stop. We've stayed at Hotel Palais de l'Isle - about as centrally located as it's possible to be in Annecy, with reduced price parking in the central underground lot. The rooms a more modern than charming, but very comfortable. I've also heard good things about Hotel du Chateau, but have no personal experience with it.

Thanks Flyfish. I am booked at the Hotel Palais de l'Isle; it looks just right. I may even stay 2 nights; still working on my schedule.

We also stayed at the Hotel de Palais de l'Isle and loved the location. This was several years ago but I'm sure it's still fine. We had a wonderful meal at a nearby restaurant called Auberge du Savoie. If it's still there, it's worth a try.

We spent four nights as Hotel du Palais de I'Isle, and found it pretty well lacking in charm or character, but clean and relatively comfortable, despite being sort of dark inside and pretty cramped. But it was one of the few hotels right in that part of the town and we loved the location. We spent one day trying to scout out other hotels for future reference and didn't find much.

In downtown Annecy we stayed a few nights at the Splendid and found it more than acceptable. The location is outstanding, right across the canal from the town park, a short walk from everything. Cibolette was the favorite of the several good restaurants we tried.
