Superb! We have stayed there twice and have sent several friends and relatives who all loved it, too. I have recommended it on this forum, too.
Its surrounded by its own vineyards with walking trails, about 3 miles south of San Jimmy, in the country...actually off the road to Volterra.
We used the same modus operandi both times...we would set off on day trips (car)after breakfast and return to San Jimmy late afternoon after the multi-hordes of tourists left..parking at the large lot near the south entrance gate. Then after strolling through the uncorwded, we'd have dinner at one of the several good choices in town.
We phoned for reservations and asked for the "Tower Room" which we had seen described in the Fodor's Guide...and the desk man laughingly said.."Yes, Meester Tower, we will have the Tower Room ready for you." In the breakfast room, with a broad smile he would proudly ask, for all of the patrons to hear, "How deed you like the Tower Room, Meester Tower!"
The room is actually in the attached bell tower and thee rate is the same as all other double rooms. A small ante room, a large bathroom, a narrow staircase up to the bedroom, which is comopletely surriunded by largewindows for a 360-degree magnificent view, with the towers of San Jimmy on the skyline looking like a little Manhattan.
Stay there! It also has a large pool and delightful gardens. You will love it...it's been a few years since we were last there, but I don't imagine the rates have risen too much, except it is now in the Euro game...ugh!

Our family stayed at Hotel Pescille 2 years ago. We though it was fabulous - with beautiful rooms and baths, a fabulous pool surrounded by vineyards, and great views of the towers of San Gimignano- and we didn't even stay in the tower room. It was ideal. You will love your stay there! dlynn

Write to my address as stated above and I will return about 8-10 pix in and around the Pescille. They're scanned, so I can't upload them to send...unless you have a suggestion...otherwise, just write and I'll respond with the pix immediately.
