This hotel is apparently in Rome. It looks very nice on its website: http://ottocento.hotel-roma.net/

and on venere.it:

http://www.venere.it/it/roma/ottocento/hotel.html.en

The location also seems good, very near the Barbernini metro and Spanish steps. There is no feedback yet on either venere or tripadvisor.com.

Thanks Lesli
I have also seen the pictures and been to those and a few more web sites. I was hoping to see if anyone has stayed there recently. Sometimes the pictures are nice but the hotel isn't.
That said, I have made a reservation there for next week. I will post about it when we return.

How was the hotel Lewis? Did you get a chance to stay there? Did you make reservations directly with the hotel?

Hi teach

Yes, we did go, but it was during the heatwave! While the hotel was very nice, we checked out the same day we got there! It is advertised as an air conditioned hotel. There was (for some reason) a thermometer on the wall of the room. When my wife and I awoke in a pool of sweat, the thermometer said 83 degrees F!! Not good sleeping weather, huh?

Called the front desk, said they were sorry but all rooms were booked, so I couldn't tell if others were the same or it was just our room. We went to the Hotel Mondial on Via Tritone 4* with good A/C!!

As long as the weather is cool, I'd consider staying there because of its location. It is right around the corner from the Spanish Steps, at the top.

The room was nice, the bathroom had a rainshower shower head.

Yes, booked with them directly.
Good luck.
