We are looking to take a one week trip to Paris in late October. We are looking for a hotel or bed and breakfast in the St. Germaine de Prez area. We hope to find one that is quiet (not paper thin walls like we have read on this forum) and not alot of traffic.

We are fine with spending up to 200 euros a night.

My wife and I have stayed at Hotel Pas des Calais several times. Very convenient- less that block off blvd St. Germaine. It has a web site so you can check it out. Nice rooms and nice people at desk- even gave us a note in French for the bus! Good suggestions for "local" restaruants also. Take a look.

And when you get to trying to say it, absolutely do not say "Germaine" or nobody will understand you.

We enjoyed the Hotel Residence Henri IV -- it's in a great "real" neighborhood, on a super-quiet side street.
