Kate, seems they're hard to secure a reservation with. Is this correct? Plus it seems if you're a newcomer,it's hard to "get in". Kind of like exclusivity.

By the way how is that continental b'fast they offer?

Breakfast for us is always a pot of coffee for two and croissants. So I am not sure about what else they offer. The coffee is great!
Not exclusive at all.We were newbies there once, I called, and booked the room and that was that.Sent them the check and the room was waiting for us when we got there.
When booking, does anyone just call or do you do it all through email? Perhaps a phone call would be more reassuring?
Kate

First I sent an email to which they responded. Then I called to ask a couple questions but it's too expensive that way. I have been sending emails but they answer when they can and not in detail either.

That b'fast is 9.15 Euro/pp. That's alot for a few croissants and a pot of coffee. I believe they say eggs are a la carte.

Well, since this is probably a busy season for them, and maybe once they have a room booked, they are not so fast to keep talking to you
If you have any questions that I could help you with,I don't mind, and I promise I will get back to you quickly
kate

Kate, looks like all the business is going to the Angleterre based on your recommendations! gt

I just sent off the check and I'll let them know to expect it.

I received back an email from the hotel today as I too asked about the room I'm reserving. They can't give specifics only to say they are all different sizes and differently decorated.

Now like I mentioned before, we reserved a deluxe room so I am hoping it's spacious and not too quirky. Anyway, it's only for two nights. I do wish I could know beforehand what the room looks like.

I usually like to know what the room looks like too,but in the case of a lot of European hotels, each room is different- unlike the hotels in the US where the rooms are all exactly alike.
As long as you have a courtyard room and a big bed, you will be fine
I think a deluxe room will be just right!

I have a heavy responsibility now hoping that my recommendations are lived up to by the hotel! But they have never failed us,and we do go to some pretty nice hotels,so I think you should be happy.
Do post a report when you get back,so I can know wonderful your stay in France was!
Have a great time,Kate
Try to have dinner at the Petite St Benoit right around the corner on rue Benoit.Go to Allard for dinner one night.

Thanks Kate. Looks like you're doing double time on the "Rue Jacob Hotels" thread too! We can really use the help as there is no website for Angleterre.
