Hotel in Siena?

Looking to book a hotel in siena for a few night at the end of June and the prices are ridiculous! Any recommendations for a decent place to stay that isn't going to break the bank? Getting quoted 120 Euro for singles!

We leave in a week and we are staying at the Santa Caterina - I think it was 143 for a double. I don't know what a single is. Try the tuscany.net website. They had many hotels....

Well, what are your requirements? Is a low price your most important factor and far outweights 'charm'? We stayed at a place called Piccolo Hotel Il Palio. We booked it through venere, much cheaper than going through Minotel. It has a good location inside Siena's walls, a couple of minutes from the bus stop and a 10 minute walk to the Campo. Cramped room, old bathroom and definitely out-of-style furniture. Staff was nice. Most importantly, we paid 55 Euros for a double. We thought the price was right for the location and having a private bathroom.

We were in Italy last summer and my favorite hotel was in Siena, B & B Borgo Grondiae. It is a bit out of the way. The town is about 5-10 minutes by car and too far to walk. We took cabs and it was no problem. Try this website http://www.tuscany.net/grondaie/fgallery/f5.htm. Have fun
