Hotel in Burgundy

Hello Everyone! I am looking for a hotel in Burgundy, preferable near Beaune. My wife and I will be spending 3 nights, after a while in Paris. Since our Paris stay will be with friends, I am willing to pay for something really nice near Beaune. Any thoughts on a hotel around there, especially one that is truly fantastic? I have probably looked at most of them online, but I would like some real experience, if possible, to help guide me. Thank you!

Right in Beaune, walking distance to the historic sites and good dining choices, Hotel Le Cep, situated in an historic townhouse. We loved our stay there.Parking lot behind hotel too.

Check out the Relais et Châteaux web site for several good options.

I have stayed twice at Hostellerie Le Cedre on the ring road around Beaune, and just a short walk to downtown. A fine hotel with a very good restaurant.

Chagny is 10 miles south of Beaune. I have had the pleasure of twice staying at the Chateau de Bellecroix: http://www.chateau-bellecroix.com/

A good, albeit expensive restaurant in a lovely dining room; copies of European Masters' painting in the dining room. The restaurant is just off the N6.

Awesome...thanks everyone. I'm not going to pull the trigger yet, so if anyone else has had a great experience, go ahead and post it! Thanks!

I'd probably head right to cocoindijon's place in Dijon, based on her posts here and all the happy campers who've stayed with her.

We highly recommend an apartment in Dijon. You can find all of the positive comments at www.myhomeindijon.com. We have stayed there several times. The location is perfect for all the things to visit in historic Dijon. The hostess, Coco is so helpful. The apartment is so pleasant. You can visit restaurants or prepare meals in the apartment. Enjoy!
