Hotel help in Munich
Hey everyone, making my first trip to Europe in late September and will be in Munich for Oktoberfest. I was wondering if you guys could reccomend some lower priced hotels/inns in Munich. Some good websites would help as well.
Thanks!

Well lucky you!!!! It'll be so much fun during Oktoberfest!!!
I was just there in April and used www.placestostay.com to find accomodations.
We stayed at the 1st Creatif Elephant. It was under construction at the time. Not sure when it will be completed but it was decent. Free breakfast was included.

Hi
I was in Munich in early April and had a wonderful time. I booked the 1st Creativ Elephant Hotel via the internet. On arrival they had overbooked due to the reconstruction work and they could not accomodate me. However theyu provided an alternative at the Hotel Monaco. This was cheap and very central. Excellent breakfast. Rooms basic but clean. Area peppered with a few "girly bars" but otherwise ok. The city is very interesting and the beer is great. Have a good time.

I also had the same dilemna of getting a room for the first week in October, including the weekend which is the closing weekend of Oktoberfest. All the rates I could come up with were in the 170 euro range and up. Then I tried priceline for the hell of it and was able to get a room at the Marriott for $100 per night. I would prefer a closer location but the trains are so easy to use there that for the price it was worth it. When I was there in December I paid $53 for a central hotel which is now charging $250 for Oktoberfest!
Good luck!
Good luck!
