We stayed there in August, 1997. I do not know if they have a website. It was very convenient to the Cathedral and La Petite France. The hotel was very nice looking and the room (we had a triple, was very nice with a huge bathroom. They had an elevator and the staff was very nice and helpful. We had reserved by phone about 2 weeks before. I do not know if this helps but it was a good location and pleasant for us.

Just want to share an experience with the Hotel Gutenberg. I made a reservation at the end of May 2009 for our stay in late August through Booking.com. I got confirmation of our one-night stay almost immediately. We also got directions to a nearby parking garage.
When we got to Strasbourg we went immediately to the parking garage, unloaded some of our bags and walked to the hotel very nearby. When we got there, we were told that a computer glitch delayed our reservation, so when the hotel got it, they didn't have any more rooms. They did book us into their sister hotel about 1/2 mile away. There was nothing we could do, so we shlepped our bags over to the new place out of the city center and went back for the car to repark it nearer to our hotel and get the rest of our bags.
My question is...were they telling the truth??? I made the reservation May 25, 2009. They sent me an email on August 21, 2009 that they could not accomodate us. We never got the email as we were already on the road. The reservation at the Gutenberg was for August 26. The hotel blamed the glitch on Bookings.com, then on the internet. We had several other hotels booked through Bookings.com and had no problems at all.
We thought maybe the Gutenberg got some longer stays booked after us and decided to dump us to make room.
Anyone else had this experience?

Sorry to hear about that, drebin. We loved our stay at the Gutenberg and had nothing but a positive experience.
I can't imagine that they'd be lying to you, they seemed like a pretty professional place to me and their reputation is very good. I imagine what they told you is probably true.
Does booking.com have any type of guarantee or something like that? Maybe you could look into it, if you haven't already?
