Booking through internet

I booked accomodation through internet and I got email from hotelnetservice.com that my booking is confirmed. On that e mail they send me the e mail adress of the property I booked, so I tried to contact owner directly to give me mobile phone or some response that I can be sure that my booking is safe. I got no reply. It was 10 days ago.Is it normal procedure. To me it sounds stupid. What if my plane is late or something. Any bad experiance with internet bookings? At this point i'm thinking to cancel that "confirmed booking"?

I would try both e mail and calling by phone to the hotel. I would not feel ok till I get a reply.

I always feel it is best to do all reservations directly with the hotel. Why use a booking service? At this point, I would call the hotel.

Good luck.....

Hi K,

Call or Fax.

If you don't get a reply, cancel.

What hotel?

I just topped your other thread, where a poster suggested you Google the name of your hotel and maybe get this information (the phone number.) As ira asks, what hotel?

I found phone number of that B&b in Rome on some other site, so I will call that number to check the reservation. I am just curious why they dont reply on my e mail I send them 10 days ago.

Maybe they didn't get it,

Maybe they did get it and answered but you didn't receive the response

Maybe they are having computer problems

Maybe the person who handles their e-mails is off work on holiday or something

Maybe, Maybe, Maybe. There are lots of possible reasons - so as I suggested on your other thread, a quick phone call will settle things.

because then you are quoted the rack rate - if you use the internet you often get much cheaper rooms 50-60% cheaper

I almost always book through internet. I use orbitz.com or expedia.com or travelocity.com and never have any problems. I am not familiar with hotelnetservice.com--never heard of it.
