Absolutely, if you're travel with children you have to do something everyone enjoys - usually they hate being dragged around endless museums. I agree with the few museums too - I only went to a small handful and didn't stay for hours upon hours in any.
P.S. Whilst I did not eat there, I notice that the McDonalds there serves "Greek burgers", "Greek chicken" , and other ""Greek"" flavours, buon appetite!

Thank you for your comments! We have one night in Athens (at the GB) on our honeymoon - any restaurant recomendations not in the hotel? (im sure we will have breakfast and drinks at the hotel - but may want to venture to a different setting for dinner) We are looking for great food in a beautiful setting - hopefully not a tourist trap kind of place!

These are two one michelin starred establishments, and I would imagine booking in advance would help. Any further queries please contact me.

We stayed here three years ago and found though the hotel was beautiful the staff was a little brusque--we had asked for a quiet room to help us recoup from jet lag b4 starting a cruise--the interior rooms were very quiet and the location was beautiful-we asked the concierge for a restuarant suggestion ane somehow felt perhaps the one suggested might have been owned by a family member--but one can never match the beauty of the Parthenon. We found it quite easy to book a side trip to Delphi thru the hotel--Athens must be fun now gearing up for the Olympics--last year we only had a few hours b4 our plane left after a cruise--so we arranged to have a driver take us up to the Acropylis (sp?) for just a few hours-and well worth it--one of the most breathtaking places in the world--so beautiful even if just for a short visit. Just a note: The hotel was subjected to a total refurbishment for eighteen months, and only re-opened in March '03, and I'm sure the staff have all changed, so your opinions of this property hold far less validity.
