Hotel for mother-daughter weekend in Paris?

Hi everyone...I'm taking my mum to Paris for a two-night long weekend in a couple of weeks, and while I've been to Paris many times before, I've happily stayed in hostels and smaller places (ie on the 5th floor with no lift, shower is on the 3rd, but it's all been great) and I would like us to stay somewhere decent. I don't mind a small room, and I'd to stay around the Marais or the 6eme/Jardins de Luxembourg area. My budget is up to 120E a night. Would love to get your recommendations - thanks!

I have stayed in the Grand Hotel Malher in the Marais. It's nothing spectacular but the location is excellent and it's clean and safe. My only caveat would be that when the rubbish is being collected at about 6am the noise from the street can be LOUD. Ask for a room overlooking the interior courtyard - www.grandhotelmalher.com

If it's out of your budget the Le Sevigne is across the street and is also fine, but the rooms are a lot smaller - www.le-sevigne.com . My parents (in their 60's) stayed there last year and were happy with it.

Thank you. I ended up booking Hotel Paris Rivoli. I stayed there a few years ago and the location is so good and the rooms quite nice, and it fell into my budget.

soisbelle,

Where are the "smaller places (ie on the 5th floor with no lift, shower is on the 3rd, but it's all been great)"? I'm always looking for inexpensive single rooms for my solo trips.

Last summer we stayed at the Best Western Premier Left Bank Hotel in St. Germain. (Grandparents, children,& grandchildren) Loved the hotel. Very clean, nice breakfast and excellent location. Check it out on tripadvisor.

I just booked my son and me into a double room with two twin beds with a balcony overlooking Les Invalides at the Hôtel de France - Invalides for 110 euros for the night of July 31. We've been staying at this hotel for the past 10-15 years and love it.
