Honeymoon stay ...Positano or Amalfi Coast. Please Advise

Hello Everyone

We are spending a few days down south in Italy after a tour in december.

My travel agent recommended Santa Caterina in the Amalfi Coast. I have heard that the Amalfi Coast is beautiful but I have also heard really good things about Positano.

Where to stay for our Honeymoon? Please recommend a hotel if you can as well as things to do...specially at night. (not looking for a place to dance but more like romantic, relax nights)

Thank you so much

Good news -- Positano is a town located in the Amalfi Coast region. And yes, it is stunning and a wonderful destination for a honeymoon.

On our honeymoon, we enjoyed our stay at Albergo Miramare. We had room 210 which is often referred to as their "famous" room that has a wonderful/large terrace and unbeatable view.

I'm not sure that's the place to be in December. It's totally out of season then.

Boat trips do not run, etc.

I agree with Myer. The AC is not at its best in December. Many hotels, restaurants, shops, etc. are on limited winter hours or closed for renovations. Also the weather is pretty gloomy.

Since there won't be much tourist activity at that time of year, I would suggest if you do go to the AC that you stay right in one of the towns, such as Amalfi or Sorrento. There would be more going on in Sorrento.

A superb place to go but I am afraid that in December it will be really cold and most if not al of the hotels that it is famous for will be closed .If open I strongly recommend the San Pietro in Positano but my recollection is that it and other luxe places like Hotel Sirenuse all close about October at the latest .
