Deb is right, you don't need to reserve in advance for the bus. The bus station was close to the tourist area, we walked there with our luggage from Hotel Bellevue (wouldn't recommend BTW, one night there was tolerable, the "Belle Vue" was a view of a bell that rings at 6 am!)

I forgot to look for my notes last night but I think I recall that the schedule was skewed toward the morning hours-very frequent in the morning, less after 3-4 pm.

I spent a lot of time looking for info on the internet before I went for bus schedules and it really wasn't necessary as it was quite easy to get a bus.

Kris and Deb are right. You do not need to reserve in advance a bus ticket. And also, the Split-Dubrovnik route is a very common route. There will be buses leaving every hour on the hour in the morning/afternoons. After 3-4, like Deb said, it isn't as frequent, maybe every hour and a half.

If you want, when you are there you can always call the bus station and verify what times the buses leave.

Nina

Hi,

actually just got back from Slovenia and we drove into Croatia a few times. The roads are poor but some wonderful views.

Rovinj was tremendous, Porec worth a short visit but for me the limski Canal was incredible. Really hot weather, se afoos excellent but thousands of tourists everywhere. September should be less crowded.

Cheers.

Gill,

What all did you do in Slovenia? We're planning 4 days there after 7 in Croatia, and dividing that 4 days evenly between Ljubljana & Lake Bled.

I am leaning towards not renting a car at all since boat, train & bus transporation seems adequate in both countries. And I've heard about the poor roads in Croatia before.

Thanks for any thoughts.

ttt is short for "To The Top". Also known as "topping". It brings the thread back up to the #1 position - makes it easier to find the thread for people who are planning to visit, in this case, Croatia. I find that the search funtion doesn't always work correctly.

Carla,

I would recommend adding the island of Hvar to your itinerary. It's one of the most beautiful islands in Croatia and the old town of Hvar is very pretty.

www.hvar.hr
