transit strike - alternatives
Flying into heathrow at 21:30 tomorrow (Thursday) evening and am looking for transit options after learning the tube strike is definite. Am staying near Queensway station (Bayswater) and am inquiring whether its cheaper to take a cab directly or take the heathrow express to Paddington and then a taxi to Queensway. Thanks for your help.

The Express/Taxi combi will be much cheaper than a taxi all the way from LHR. Paddington to Queensway is a fairly short drive.

BUT - be prepared for chaos and a long wait no matter which route you take. All the Londoners who would normally be on theh tube will be taking cabs, buses and private cars. So traffic and taxi queues could be horrible.

So IF you don't mind paying extra you might be better off taking a taxi from the airport (but the queues there will be longer than normal too)
