As Hooameye says -- the Poppies are gone - they started removing them on Nov. 12 and a week later they were all gone. And they represented not just British dead - but also Commonwealth/Colonial.

With only a few days in each place you are going to have to pick and choose carefully , both cities offer dozens of exciting choices..
In Paris I would list the Invalids Army Museum and the Shoah Museum as top picks for starters..
In London I would list the Imperial War Museum and Tower of London.
Of course there are historical artifacts in most museums.. so you could and should add a visit to both the Louvre in Paris and the Royal British Museum in London.
