Travelnut-- you'll be AMAZED of how frequently people who were "there" never "saw it". A common case in point is when you show Before & After pictures after weight loss, most people show genuine surprise of how big they actually looked. Denial is not just a river in Egypt....

Article from MSNBC:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6743532/

Here is Jonathan's explanation for his unstable behavior:

Now, in a message posted on the couple’s Web site, he blames “a heighten[ed] version of stress and obsession mix with medication for a sickness called Sarcoidosis.” He also writes, “I am taking full responsibly [sic] for my actions on screen. Please allow me to make the effort. I am deeply saddened by the storyline that CBS went with. I am sorry for my actions, I am sorry to Victoria. Most all I am sorry to the Fans of the Amazing Race.”

I have heard that this episode won't continue until Jan 4.
Next week is just supposed to be a retrospective of this and past seasons with behind the scenes footage.
So we have a while before we see if this is a non elimination round.

Was surprised and disappointed to find no comments about last night's show. I missed it and am dying to know what happened. Apparently it was a sort of "recap" show from what I've been able to find elsewhere, but no actual outline of the show. Was a team eliminated? Where did they travel? Can someone please enlighten me?

It was simply a recap of this season's previous episodes, with some unseen footage. I was hoping they would show the last part of the Hungary leg, but no such luck. Guess we'll have to wait until next week to see what happens...

Thank you KatelP. Apparently I didn't really miss anything particularly interesting or spectacular. I don't know what in the world the producers/editors, etc. are thinking. Are they drunk with power with the two Emmy awards and think we will accept anything they decide to do? Why try to fix something if it ain't broke? Wish they would stop tinkering and give us the old formats which we fans so loved. It's bad enough coping with the lousy "cast of characters" they stuck us with this season!

Thanks again and I would enjoy further impressions of last night's show if anyone would like to post.

Missed it on the original episode, but was driven crazy on the recap when the psycho Jonathan kept calling Senegal "Senagogue".
I hate him and I hate Victoria too - she's just as bad as he is, for staying with him. Obviously she's getting some perverse form of fame out of all of this.

Giovanna, it was a recap show, with plenty of "what you didn't see" footage -- much of it VERY funny!

Those of you who have grown fond of the wrestlers, did you change your opinion when you saw Bolo faking mental retardation and physical disability to get through ahead of the others? Surely a new low in tactics.

We were away for 10 days and missed the last (to be continued) episode, so I was thrilled that we didn't miss that much. A friend has taped it, so we can still have the pleasure of seeing Jonathan thrown out of a taxi.

Suki, thanks so much for the television without pity link. That's just what I have been looking for, and I agree, it is the very bottom feeding of guilty pleasures! Oh well, we all deserve a few of those.

My father was born in Budapest and it is one of my favorite cities. I haven't been there for many years, since it was "behind the Iron Curtain," but I look forward to another visit.

Marilyn, yes, my opinion of the wrestlers has changed. I hope they get kicked off next week. Also, I did not like Kendra, but after last night I can't stand her. What a princess! The nicest couple is Kris and Jon and I really hope they win.

I also don't buy Jonathan's blaming of medication for sarcoidosis for his behaviour. Lots of people with this disease don't need any treatment at all; the drugs normally prescribed are also taken by those with arthritis or some types of asthma - in other words, common medications that don't cause those taking them to behave like idiots.

The only redeeming quality I can see he has is that he's an animal lover and would donate part of his prize money to PETA.

Remember when he said he could make people do whatever he wanted them to simply by staring into their eyes?

First time I watched was last night. Am I the only one who's irritated beyond belief by the girl who keeps calling her partner "baby, baby, baby.."? Sheesh! And that Jonathan needs to be shot.

That is so funny Taggie...it bothered me too. I just watched a tape of last night's episode and was telling my boyfriend that I couldn't believe Jonathan kept saying "The President of Senagogue" over and over. Ugh!

MrAmazed, I have only seen AR 5 & 6, but it seems that over half of the men and women call their partner "baby." It sounds odd to me, but I guess the babies must like it.

Not that I am looking to defend Jonathan, but is it possible that the residents call the country Senagogue?

<<is it possible that the residents call the country Senagogue?>>

Absolutely not. It's Sénégal, a francophone West African country, where the residents would pronounce the name much as we do, with the acute-accented "e." A resident would be a sénégalais or sénégalaise. Jonathan just a twerp, and a highly ignorant one too.

After seeing the recap (which I only watched because there's ZIP on Tv this week), I'm more convinced than ever that this group is a true "Ship of Fools." I miss the older couple, like the father/daughter team but was unhappy to see him behave like a beer-0-holic twit, and am now so blinded by how bad some of them are that I don't entirely know who to root FOR -- just who to root AGAINST.

The ignorance is breathtaking -- "breeding"??? "baby-baby"? "Jonathan would be such a good father"??? "Senagogue"????????

Oo, I can hardly wait to see Victoria's tears followed by a gagging reconciliation and more of Jonathan. I'd never look in his eyes for fear of being turned to stone.

It's funny that you mention the term "baby" being used by many of the teams when talking to their partners. I've noticed this, too, and it's non-stop! It makes me feel really out of touch -- I've never heard anyone using this as a term of endearment (other than Jessica Simpso and Nick Lachey on their Newleywed show -- which I swear I've only watched once). But I guess that's the same level of enlightenment as the couples on AR6!

And Jonathan repeating over and over again how proud he was of himself was equally as annoying. He just lives in his own little delusional world, doesn't he.

I thought they called each other "baby" because they can't remember their partner's name! Seriously, it bugs me too and has done since the first week.
