How true chatters.....prime example. William Hung, the "She Bangs" fool from American Idol that can't hold a note to save his life. That man is making tons of money, performing all over the place, and all becuase he was a lousy yet somewhat amusing audition on a reality show! Go figure!

I seem to remember a travel race show a few years ago. I think the teams were blind-folded and left in an area. They had to determine where in the world they were, and were given money, a clue, something when they provided the right answer. I think they were in Mongolia or Nepal. There were yurts, I think. One stupid couple thought they were in the Czech (spelling) Republic. One team got the location from looking at money in a bottle. I believe it was from a mound of items left by locals as a way to thank God/the gods/whatever. I also remember some locals on motor bikes soon after the team members were let off into some field/valley. Does this ring a bell with ANYONE? Thanks for any help. It's making me crazy!

cheapalice - I remember, I remember - but beats me what it was? Vaguely, it might have been "Worlds Apart" a National Geographic show??? or maybe not. In fact, Worlds Apart was pretty interesting, plopping American's (mostly families - though the two single couples in Himba country in Namibia were toooo much!) in a foreign country and having them live with the locals for about 8-10 days. Hope that programs returns.

Back to your original scenario - I can't recall the name, but remember that one of the teams were two women, though not sure about the other two teams! Please someone out there, refresh our minds... for at this point I'm confused with all this travel stuff. And with Boston Bob resurfacing - what has this world come to?

Just checked the local newspaper TV guide thingie to make sure AR is on at 9 pm. Blurb states, "Infighting among teammates"...sigh. Is anyone really enjoying the bickering? Is it adding to your enjoyment of the series? Does it make you want to watch the next season? I think not.

Betsy, yes, I'm waiting for fisticuffs. I hear AR7 is going to have some spectacular roadblocks -- fighting lions in the Roman Coliseum, surviving the guillotine in Paris, trekking to the South Pole in a dogsled, etc.

Betsy, conflict is at the heart of any well-crafted melodrama script. If it didn't have all the tension then it'd be on the Travel Channel. Ho-hum.

Tell me truthfully...don't you enjoy seeing those idiots destroy each other? You always know what's going to happen with that sweet father-daughter team undertakes their next challenge. They will demurely move ahead as best they can. But those bimbos who think the slaves *escaped* Africa -- I'm always on the edge of my seat to hear them, to see them tear into each other. I sure hope they lose. This show has really pitted my allegiances because of the conflict.

Betsy: I agree with you. This bunch is not as interesting or entertaining to watch as the previous teams have been. I saw several "teasers" on the show last night and one of the little darlings is screaming that he's going to "break somebody in half." So maybe the fisticuffs aren't too far in the future.

I find no pleasure in watching this bunch of illiterate, thoughtless, impolite yahoos! If that's supposed to sell a show, I'm the wrong customer!!

I remember Worlds Apart...watched it all the time. Very interesting but the really neat thing was to see the look on the faces of the Americans that were totally horrified by seeing the way they would be living, and even the crying and complaining from some of the kids, and then seeing all that change in the short 10 days they were there. How they appreciated and bonded with the families they were staying with and how when they left they were usually in tears because they would be missing the people they had met. Yea...it was neat. There was only one of the shows I saw with two couples..they weren't married to each other but then went through the ceremony of the culture they were staying with for preparation and the marriage....anyway, one of the girls just never did get into it, or get it...but they were the only ones. I can't get National Geographic channel anymore and it's one of the shows I really miss.

Tandoori_Girl, I agree. Conflict, used intelligently, can enrich a dramatic situation. But I have to side with Giovanna on this one. In addition, I stopped watching Airport on A&E because of similar issues. I was getting sooo bored with the imbeciles each week who were posturing for the camera in order to win their allotted 15 minutes of fame. Don't they realize the producers are taking advantage of them? Do they care? I guess not.

Oops, make that Airline on A&E, not Airport.

alice and sandy, I remember that show and almost posted about it a while ago when someone on here was suggesting that a better premise for a race around the world would be exactly the premise used on this show. It was called "Lost." I think it only aired a few times.

The "Duh-noob" is not a river in Budapest!

Of all the stupid things that have been said recently on this show, this one takes the cake. My first comment:

"Oh, my, God, the Fodorites are going to freak out!"

As Victoria was vomitting her way through the soup all I could do was yell at the tv and encourage Jonathon to keep yelling at her. I was hopeful that she would break down and they would end up last. But, as has happened in the past, a good team is gone. I really liked Gus and Hera, sorry to see them go.

Taggie: I think you were replying to Mamarosa and not me - I try not to give important stuff away before "West Coast" time.

However, everyone I know here in small town Northern California has DirectTV so we watch AR at 6:00 our time on the CBS station from New York. I don't know too many people, at least where I live, who don't do it that way, especially on week nights!

Yes, I did mean mamarosa. She told us all who gets knocked out tonight.

Even the network stations will delay posting recaps on their websites until the show has aired in each time zone.

Most people where I live - Vancouver BC - do NOT have Direct TV.
I work in the industry and actually do not watch that much television outside of work. And lots of times I am in transit from work at 6 pm so couldn't cheat the viewing time anyway, even if I did have the technology.

Regardless, it's still not fair to post spoilers without warning people that that is what you are doing, thus giving them the choice of reading or not.

I am beyond sorry for spoiling tonight's show for anyone. That was not my intention. I never even thought about the west coast. I am truly sorry.

Apology accepted
I think I'll survive.
Anyway, if we bury your post up a little further maybe no one else'll read it.

In that case...I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry! I hope this helps to bury it. I told my husband that I had spoiled the show for the west coast...his response was "If you weren't so addicted to that website, this would have never happened!" I suppose he is right!

Seriously though, I feel awful.
