help with trip photos -- camera raw
I'm back from Rome, Capri, and Amalfi, and I'm working on my trip report and photos. I bought a Canon G10 for the trip. Also upgraded Photoshop to CS4 so I could open the camera raw photos from the camera--CS2 doesn't work with the new camera, unfortunately. I downloaded the camera raw plugin for my camera from adobe.com, but I don't know how to install. They have instructions online, but not written so a novice (me) can understand. Would appreciate help if anyone out there can help me figure out how to install this downloaded file. I'm obviously not computer literate. I'm assuming downloading and installing would be two different tasks? Thanks.

There is an automated installation or a manual installation.
Automated installation on Mac or Windows:
1. Select "Updates..." from the Help menu.
2. Follow the onscreen instructions to download
and install the latest available Camera Raw
update.
With a PC (32 bit) it looks like the manual installation is simple drag and drop function after downloading the plug-in.
Also, if you've followed the directions, you may want to check to see that you have the correct system requirements to run CS4.

Also, you may want to check your serial number on your camera. Canon issued a "service notice" for select G10s today:
