Hi--sorry if I was incorrect. As I had said, I was not sure. In thinking back, the last time we were in Europe at a time of year when this "summertime" would have applied was in "92 and at that time the time difference between Boston and Paris was an hour less than it would be at other times of year b/c Bos was on DST and Paris was not--at least *not* in 1992--so this must be something instituted after that date.

I also realize that the trips we have taken since then have all been at other times of year--several in May and a couple in March, and so any time change would not have been a factor at those times of year. I guess it would be better not to contribute if I am not certain of my info even if I do preface it w/my own doubts.

Socialworker, I too have only been to Paris in the spring, early summer and early fall so I have never had to deal with autumn time changes. Usually we are in France in May and then it is "try to figure out when there isn't a national holiday or a strike". Your contributions are definitely appreciated. Thanks, Deborah

They've had DST in Paris for at least 25 years. Perhaps in 1992 it justed didn't start on the exact same date as in the US, I imagine. Sometimes it is a week difference in start dates (or used to be), and I think it varied between some European countries. The EU standardized it between their countries, anyway.
