Unfortunately I cannot reccommend any the areas you have asked for but I can highly reccommend Carpe Diem, 5 km outside Assisi and Portofino Est on the Ligurian coast, 4 km from Rapallo.

They are both of very high standard (and believe me - we also had some bad experiences to compare with!) and beautifully situated with views that take away your breath.

would appreciate it if you can give me a little bit more info about this timeshare. Were you happy with the location and what sort of things did you do in the area? Did you have a car? Any info you can give me would help. Thanks

What time share company are you trading through? We have tried to get things in Italy through Interval World and it stinks..nothing ever available.

Just curious if you are having better luck through another timeshare company.

I think you could get more information on this subject on tugs2.net--specifically a timeshare website.

I also consult tug but I always ask on Fodor's for information. Many of our trips have been sucessful because of what I have learned from fellow fodorites.

I guess my reply to what timeshare company we are using didn't post. It is RCI and yes they have told me it is difficult to get Italy but since I am booking 1 year ahead and want to go in October my chances might not be too bad. Will try.

We have stayed in timeshares in 1997 and 2003 in Italy. We also stayed at Carpe Diem timeshare through RCI in 1997. We enjoyed the area, and it is a very nice facility. You definitely need a car. We have been able to get timeshares in italy, but we have requested almost 2 years in advance. Even requesting that early, we did not get all the weeks or the places we really wanted. It is as tough as they say it is. I put in a request a couple months ago for May 2006!

I too am looking for information on RCI Timeshares. I had posted a message earlier in the month on Fodors, but no one replied. I asked if anyone had used RCI and where did they go, because I was having problems looking for anything in Italy.

Here are the RCI resorts we have stayed in.
#3573 - Carpediem - outside of Assisi
#3560 - Nardo (in Apulia)
#2961 - Residence Pietre Rosse (twice)
#2553 - Residence Soldanella (we left after 3 days. Never again)
Let me know if you need any more info.

Just thought I'd mention that I've had searches for Italy through RCI for over three years and haven't been able to get an exchange there. Good luck!

Forgot to say that my searches have been for late Sept into Oct. I think you'll be extremely lucky to get one only one year away.
