Boy, talk about elitists. Just because a guy doesn't have a fancy digital electronic multi-tasking computerized bluetooth enhanced wifi capable card swipeable cash register......
They are a young couple trying to build a business. Would you prefer a coffepot or a cash register?

Has nothing to do with elitists. Has to do with preferences. One's cup of tea differs from another's.
For example, some like to bus/train around Italy -- I prefer rental car. Doesn't make one better than the other.
Just a difference of opinion. I respect yours.

My wife and I are also looking at the B&B Peterson as one option for our trip in October. We are staying in Florence for 7 nights.
Do you know if the B&B Peterson offers non-smoking rooms? I haven't been able to find any information in that regard. Thanks!

Just thought I would add my two cents in the mix. I am a single female who stayed 5 nights at the Peterson B&B a year ago November. I too stayed based on Ira's recommendation. In November it got dark early so I was almost always returning back to my room after dark. I never felt at all unsafe. The room was huge, it was a corner room and being a light sleeper I don't remember be kept awake at night. I did enjoy the refrigerator in the hall for my morning coke and an occasional evening beer or two. Was it "centrally" located, no. But the walk was less than 10 minutes and the price was great. I never saw another soul while I was there so the smoking question was not a problem. I am very sensitive to smoke and didn't smell it in the room I stayed in. For me the decision was based soley on $$ and the fact that Ira had recommended it so highly. I'd stay there again. It was clean, basic and a good price.

Glad it worked out for you, ee.
Hi MrG,
>Do you know if the B&B Peterson offers non-smoking rooms? I haven't been able to find any information in that regard.<
I don't recall seeing anyone, including me, smoking in the building and Idon't recall smelling cigarette smoke.
However, I suggest that you email them and ask if they permit smoking.
