Mamcalice, Clement is not available for one of the days when am in Paris But I did like the hotel a lot..maybe for the proverbial next time

Travelnut, I just searched for hotel de mines..found it little bit on the small-ish side for single room..

Bardo1, Clement is unavailable for one of the days am there..

Sidny, yes, good space helps me stay cheerful, which helps when you are solo while traveling..atleast for a first-timer. And thanks for your wishes..hopefully I’d be all set shortly.

Robertino, yes am looking at options which give me some sense of space without burning a hole in my pocket..

Phil, looks like I am getting 120 euros in legend hotel in 6em..leaning towards that now..

Digbydog, Clement for the next time…unavailable for one of the days am there

Cathinjoetown, you get me!

Guys,

Hotel finalized. Legend it is!!!

http://www.legendhotelparis.com/

My room is a double bedroom 15 sqm with a view of the garden. the hotel most prolly is NEW..hardly 1-2 years old from what I read online. Got it for 120 euros per night. Boutique-y feel. Looks worth lot more. This is part of their opening promo!! TEMPUR mattress & TEMPUR pillows menu!! New hotel almost always means good mattresses and this one has TEMPUR! Overall pic (hopefully that is how it truly is) looked fresh and clean and airy. Is in 6em so hoping for connectivity!!

Finally am all set! Now all anxiety put to rest

A big thanks to each one of you who helped me out by giving me moral support, lots of options to choose from and to keep the communication going. It helped me calm down and finally decide

The Hotel Legend is really in MOntparnasse, not St Germain, and rue de Rennes is a rather large, busy, noisy street. It was just a suggestion, but the hotel I mentioned was actually a better location than the Legend in terms of ambience and convenience for getting around. It is very near lots of nice famous cafes where you can hang out (rue de Rennes has almost none, you don't want to hang out on that street, anyway). And at least bd Raspail, while busy, has some trees and is mostly residential.

You must like those real modern trendy places, nothing wrong with that. The Legend used to be the Hotel Acacias not very long ago if you want to read reviews on it, at least some people might comment on the location. The decor is totally new.

Glad you found a hotel that ticks most of your boxes. Have a great time, you're less than 10 mins walk from Blvd St Germain. Over looking the garden, you won't be bothered by street noise.

Christina, am actually for once glad about being around busy street being my first time as solo traveler. I am sure I'd keep visiting Paris and I'd have enough opp to experiment with some of the awesomest suggestions of hotels on this forum including yours. I do have a thing for functionality over ornate & cleanliness & space over charm. Thanks for confirming the decor is new
Cathinjoetown, am happy thanks...
