Help...our plans have changed and we need train information Rome-Florence

Due to a terrible miscommunications, we just found out we have no garage in Florence (except the public ones) for our rental car so it looks like we will have to take the train from Rome to Florence. Where do I find out info on line for that. We are leaving May 7th for Italy. Yipes...timing is bad

Trenitalia.com. If you decide to book tickets online with your credit card be sure to notify the credit card company first. Also, some of us have had to try a few times before being successful. Good luck.

I just booked point to point tickets with europeonrail.com. I found this to be quite a bit cheaper than a general railpass. If you know specifically when you want to go & where you want to go I found that point to point are a lot less cost.

A 3rd party ticket service is more expensive than direct on trenitalia. They add a service charge and don't get you any discounts that may apply. Ex: 2 adults Rome/Naples on the AV train. It's about 110$ with a 3rd party and 60$ with direct because you can get the 2 for one discount.

We paid about 77 US dollars for 1st class tickets with the website I mentioned above. I believe that I was directed from Trenitalia to Europeonrail.com

Hi shar,

www.trenitalia.com/en/index.html for online tickets.

You have to register. Prices are the same as in Italy - 47E 1cl, 33E 2cl on the ES* - 2 cl is fine.

You can also buy your tickets at the same time you buy your ticket from FCO to Rome TE or in Rome at any train station or Travel Agent.

As Ira says why not buying your tickets while in Rome?
In the Termini they have very good service, or with any travel agency. No need for first class. Tourist class in the Euro Star is great. Get any of the several Euro Stars trains that join daily Florence and ROme. I believe it is 33 euros one way.
