Help - Nuremburg hotels and train

We had booked a hotel in Perlach for 3 nights prior to river cruise and now find that the crime, gangs are bad in that area....thinking of taking the train from Munich airport to Nurembury and stay there for the 3 nights. That is where our river cruise will leave from...any one have any suggestions for hotels that are in safe areas and near the port? Also, What train do we take to get there from Munich airport? Do we have to change trains? Thanks so much ...need to know right away...leaving in 3 days.

From the airport, take S-Bahn train line S1 or S8 to Munich Hauptbahnhof, from there an ICE train to Nuremberg. About 2 ICE trains per hour.

Very easy.

Well, having checked last weeks news (for those that believe what "Bild" says is "true".....)

http://www.bild.de/BILD/video/clip/r...mok-neuperlach

He was shooting from his girlfriends window at passers-by. Swat team cleared the situation.
Anyway...

I find it difficult to believe that crime and gangs are bad ANYWHERE IN GERMANY. It's the safest place in the world, in my opinion.

I've been in neighborhoods that aren't attractive, but I've never felt unsafe anywhere in Germany.

I've had my car robbed in Turkey, Amsterdam and Florence. My sister had her purse stolen in Barcelona. Children have tried to pick my pocket in Rome and adults in Madrid, but in all the years I lived in Germany and in all the many visits I've made to Germany in the last 35 years, I've never been robbed or threatened.

No, wait, I forgot that the cleaning woman used to take nips of my booze....

Although I like Nürnberg and I think you'd enjoy a visit, I am quite confident that you're perfectly safe in Perlach.

Yes, Perlach is an old and nice neighborhood, Neuperlach is a "problem area", (this is not Perlach) however if you know what you're doing that shouldn't be a problem for you at all!

If you are looking for trouble in Munich, "Neuperlach Zentrum" is the place to go at night.
