You can check average weather stats for Paris by month or even day on websites like www.weather.com, etc. Or see www.paris.org/Acceuil/Climate. So that will tell you what to expect. If you live in the US, you might expect it to be like NY city or Wash DC, or that general area.
Sometimes I think maybe covering so many topics in one post doesn't work real well when they are very different and such broad topics. But there are lots of threads on here about day trips from Paris and restaurants, but without any criteria at all in what you are looking for, it would be difficult for folks to make the best recommendations for you. Day trips are easy, and the best ones will be listed in any decent guidebook, so maybe you can get some ideas and ask something more detailed that way after reviewing them. Usuals are Versailles, Fontainebleau, Chartres, Chantilly, Giverny, Rouen and even Reims isn't too far. There are many others, but I think those are maybe the most popular for first-timers. I like Auvers-sur-Oise where Van Gogh lived/died a lot, also.

If you have not already gotten your room. Look at http://locationparis9.canalblog.com/. We enjoyed La Oriental. Great Cous-Cous and stuffed chicken pastry on Avenue Trudaine.
