Hi ki,

This is a common phenomenon today. You drive yourself nuts trying to make the perfect choice when, in truth, it doesn't matter.

Flip a coin.

PS,

You have to calm down. You posted this question twice in five mins.

I can't really offer a reco. They both sound very good (with very reasonable prices for a triple btw). Do you know or care about the setup of the beds in each.

Not to confuse matters, I do wonder though whether there are 2 Hotel Alas. When I looked on tripadvisor for reviews here
http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotels-g1...to-Hotels.html

there is a Hotel Ala at #26 and another Best Western Hotel Ala at #58. I thought there was only one (and it's well liked).

I think there is only one Hotel Ala. It is a nice hotel, perfectly located on a quiet piazza 10 minutes walk from St. Marks, with a very helpful staff and a good breakfast. A number of rooms overlook a small canal. Can't help you with the other hotel.

I agonized over hotels as well until about three weeks before, and the Hotel Ala was in the final three.

We decided on another hotel but did pass by the Ala on one of our walks. It is in a lovely, small, quiet piazza in the area near La Fenice. Although we loved the hotel we stayed in, we thought this would have been very nice as well and we would have been happy there.

My husband finally made the decision two weeks before we left and ended the agonizing.

Reread the desciptions of the rooms...something should pop out at you. The prices you quote are very good and the locations are similar. Either hotel should be fine.
