Hi,
We are having such a diffiult time picking a hotel in Seville. Part of my stress is that we plan on being there in about a month so i feel as if I might not find anything.

We've changed our itinerary and decided not to go to Costa del Sol (read some not so good reviews here) so we have a little more to spend than before.

Of course I'd love to stay at the Alfonso or the Casa Imperial but it's too expensive (374 USD at the Imperial, more at the Alsonso.

I've know the Casas del Rey Baeza has availability so I'm considering that. Casa 7 sort of has availability but we'd have to shift our travel dates by 1 (worth it?) Where else can we stay. We want a really nice hotel with great service and in a good lcation (*key since we won't be driving)

Please help as I feel our entire trip depends on finding a great hotel in Seville. I figure finding a hotel in Madrid is easier. We don't want to spend more than $250 USD/night.

You might want to look at the Travel section in today's New York Times (registration required); it has an article on Seville, including several hotel descriptions.

I've stayed in the Taberna del Alabardero and it was very nice, and in a great location.

It only has a handful of rooms, though, so it's often booked well in advance.

Stay away from Los Seises.

You might want to look at Las Casas de la Juderia in Santa Cruz - it's a collection of interconnected houses, all with unique (large) rooms and lovely courtyards, fountains, etc. I stayed there on part of my honeymoon last year and really liked it. Las Casas de los Mercaderes is also supposed to be nice, although maybe not as good a location.

There are dozens of good hotels to pick from in Sevilla. It all depends on where you want to stay. You shouldn't have too many problems in finding just what you're looking for by checking on-line at hotels.com, charming-hotels-spain, Secretplaces.com, innsofspain.com, etc. There is a lot to choose from.

I would also direct you to Maribelsguides.com where you can download her file on Sevilla. You'll find the file very helpful. It includes, among other useful tips, a selection of recommended hotels in different categories.

We were in Seville in April of '03 and stayed at the Hotel Amadeus. It was very nice and a good balance between cost and ambience! It is a small (14 room) hotel on a tiny side street...in good walking distance to everything. Cost is about 80 to 120 euros. They have an excellent website: www.hotelamadeussevilla.com. Also check out www.madridman.com if you haven't already. TONS of info on everything. Finally, a search engine for hotels that I liked is www.madeinspain.net. (FYI, Amadeus is actually on an alley, not a street, so you cannot drive directly up to it...we spent forever looking for an actual street, and even the locals hadn't heard of the street name.) I'd be happy to share more info if you'd like.

Check out the Hotel Alcantara (**) in Barrio Santa Cruz. We stayed in June and enjoyed it; they have a website with all their info.

agreeing with previous post- my parents stayed at Los Seises last year in September and found the location super but the service quite wanting.

I once stayed at a Villa along Avenida la Palmera near Maria Luisa park but wouldnt do that again as it wasnt really near anything.
