Brotherleelove,
I meant sea view because that is the phrase Laurie used in her initial request for advice. You are probably much more knowledgable than I regarding who has a good sunset view. I was under the impression the best view was at the north end of Oia, not facing the sea to the east where Anemomiles is. We never had a good sunset the four days we were there. It was very hazy. I live in Texas where we have spectacular sunsets so I would have to say we didn't experience the sunset in Oia as anything really special. We ate at Kastro's one night to enjoy the sunset and it was a lovely experience because it is a pretty setting and the island and the sea are so beautiful, but the sunset was not that spectacular. We had mixed reviews on the food at Kastro - mine was mediocre (Lamb), but my husband enjoyed his pasta. I will write a trip report sometime soon. I found the trip reports so helpful here and on trip advisor.

I have to agree about the sunsets, I've never been all that impressed with them, although once in a while a really good one does manage to catch my attention. In my opinion the best views are of the caldera, not the sunset. Any hotel that faces south or southwest into the caldera will have a better (and perpetual) view, whereas the sunset view is for just a short time every evening while the rest of the day the view is not anywhere near as interesting as it can be if you're looking into the caldera.
