The Madison is our favorite hotel in Paris. Try to get a corner room facing the Blvd. St-Germain (no, no traffic noise); they're larger than the others (excepting the suites). If you ask for a twin you will get quite a large room, possibly with a daybed along one wall. The twins are usually pushed together to make one large bed. Bathrooms are modern and spacious, and the little lounge bar is delightful. The location can't be beat: just across from a métro station.
A real advantage is that there are 2 elevators--one is a smallish "regular" one, with the other being a larger service elevator that is great for transporting luggage.
The buffet breakfasts are huge and delicious. But one of the fine Paul's bakeries is only a 2-block walk if you want something lighter.
