We will be in Bellagio early Oct and need to get to Chiasso to catch a train in the morning. Does anyone know the quickest way to get there? How do I find bus time tables for that area?
We have been quoted 85Euros for a driver.

Rtc - I'd think limo would be the quickest.

By public transport you'd have several options.

But ... where are you headed from Chiasso?
If it's Switzerland your best option would be bus from Menaggio to Lugano ... and onward from there.

Otherwise - your best public transport option to Chiasso would be via COMO. [Chiasso is 5 mins by train from COMO S. GIOVANNI].

You can reach Como from Bellaggio by fast boat in 45 mins., - or by bus from Menaggio (approx. 1 hour).

We are travelling to Luzern, so your tip to bus from Menaggio to Lugano is GREAT! It will save us lots of time.

Do we need to book a bus ticket or can we buy it when we get there.

Rtc - You can get your tickets in Menaggio. You can buy them from newsagents, tobaccanists and bars.

Don't forget to validate your ticket on boarding.

As I recall the bus service from Menaggio leaves from a small "square" which is directly on the lakefront and just a few minutes walk from the ferryb dock. There is a newspaper store on the same square where I suspect you could buy tickets.

I suspect you could get all the relevant information from the ferry ticket booth in either Bellagio or in Menaggio once you arrive there.
