Have you stayed in this Paris Apt?

My husband and I decided we would try renting an Apartment in Paris for 10 days. We have never done this and I guess I am second guessing myself if I made the right decision. I just paid for it. Yikes! The rental agency is ParisPerfect, the apartment is called Romanee.

If you have stayed in this apartment, is it just like the pictures? My inlaws are in their eighties and I am worried about their comfort. Thank you for your comments/opinions. Aloha

Here are a couple of links that might make you feel better - the first is a tripadvisor.com forum posting - if you scroll down there is a posting from someone who rented Romanee and loved it.

And here's a link to the Paris apartment reviews at Slow Travel - there isn't a review of Romanee but several for Paris Perfect that are very positive.

http://www.slowtrav.com/france/vr/li...er&r=Paris

In the Slow Trav part of Slow Talk there were a couple of positive references to Romanee if you want to go digging.

Maybe I'll just make it easier for you - you were wondering about the pictures - here's a copy of the posting on the Trip Advisor forum and they mention the photos

"We used ParisPerfect last fall for our family of six and could not have been happier. I think all of their apts are in the 7th, with direct (and I do mean direct!) views of the Eiffel Tower. It was amazing to sit and eat our dinner at night at our own beautiful dining table and see the sparkling lights of the Tower. It was just about everyone in our family's (mom, dad and four daughters aged 15, 13, 10 and 2 at the time) favorite memory from that trip! If you check out their website (parisperfect.com) you can see the apartments. And the photos are spot-on! We had Romanee and it was gorgeous."

I haven't stayed there but we stayed in Parisperfect's Cabernet on St. Dominique and Bourdonnais last month and loved the location.

Yes, Parisperfect is pricey but you can be assured that everything will go smoothly.

You won't be disappointed with the apartment, I'm sure. I think you and your in-laws will be happy staying in the 7th; it's so genteel.

I recently wrote a report mainly about restaurants within walking distance of our apartment. You can find it by clicking on my name. (Reluctant husband.....)

When are you going? I hope you have a wonderful trip.

Elizabeth,

Thank you very much for the information you provided. I do feel better. I just want this trip to be special and wonderful for my inlaws.

Judi,

After I read your trip report and saw the apartment you rented, I decided to go for it, we were going to stay at the D'Aubusson. I thought it was wonderful the way your trip turned out. My husband was the same way on our first trip to Paris. For about three months after our trip all he talked about was France. Thank you for taking the time to write your report.

We are going in May.

Travelnut and scdreamer,

I know what you guys are saying but we are doing this trip as a way to say thank you to my inlaws. My husband and I are so lucky to have them in our lives

Thank you again everbody, I really appreciate your comments.

Much Aloha
Maria

May sounds like the perfect time to be in Paris. That is when we plan to return...a year from May.

I'm glad to have been helpful.

Hi, Elizabeth_S! You are always helpful.

One thing I've noticed about those Parisperfect apts is how dramatically the price changes from peak to nonpeak season. So they really aren't that bad at all for what you get if you can go in November/Jan-Feb. I know the OP is going at peak season, but that price difference really struck me as it isn't that different in a lot of rentals by time of year.

We have stayed in the ParisPerfect Romanee and it is as lovely as the pictures. The bedrooms were on the back of the apartment which made them extremely quiet. The second bedroom is small but adequate with a double bed and the bathroom situation was great as it had a shower in one area and a tub in another. The living/ dining/kitchen area has a wonderful CLOSE view of the Eiffel Tower. I'm sure you will enjoy your stay.

I am one of many who will highly recommend ParisPerfect.

I rented from them in October and I have one rented for April.

Two other comparable ones are:

www.parisianflat.com
www.parisvacationapartments.com

I have one rented for April and one rented for Sept/Oct.

You will note that the Paris Vacation ones are quoted in $$, not euros. They also have all the amenities of a hotel..dining and taxi reservations, to/from airport, laptops in apartments, etc. It is a different and nice feature.

Enjoy...........

Thank you for those links..saving for a future trip. It is now obvious to me (at last) that an apartment is the only way to go in Paris.. These places look divine!

Have not stayed in the Romanee apartment (yet), but have stayed in their Montrachet, Merlot (twice), Sancerre, and Bergerac apartments (as well as a couple others not currently listed on their website), and I can say that you will not be disappointed. They are as advertised and then some! I would never stay anywhere else. I think Romanee is on the same floor as Bergerac, so I have seen it and it is lovely.

Fabulous apartment!
We stayed in the ParisPerfect apt Pomerol and the apartment looked exactly like the photos, but better.
The rooms were a tiny bit larger than they look, it is very comfortable and the service and care you get from the manager and owners is top notch.
I think it is perfect for your parents..
