We had our wedding in Tuscany 3 years ago and rented an entire estate with castle, outbuildings and pool for our 35+ friends and family. As we rented directly from the owner instead of from an agency, the price was quite good. Everyone, including the kids in our group, had a great time.

There are some wonderful places in St Jean Cap Ferrat, France. We rented one long ago but I can't find the company name right now. They are isolated with beautiful views, exclusive semi-private beaches but close enough to walk into town.

Well, I've done it for tht many once- in a big house in Scotland which was split into flats and had lodges in the grounds, and we just put enough together to make it work. However, the problem with doing that is that the public space tends not to be big enough.

However, friends of ours have a similar arrangement on the west coast and there IS enough space. You have to jiggle with it, but it can be done.

We have rented many times through Large Holiday Houses in Scotland

http://www.lhhscotland.com/index.asp

They now have a French bit attached.

I can only find one on the CKD Galbraith web site

http://www.scotland-holiday-homes.co...l/ormidale.htm

but there may be more lurking on their sporting pages.

Janis has given you a couple of links, and I would add

http://www.scottscastles.com/

and

I hope you pick Scotland. I guarantee you'll love it.

I was away when this was first posted, but the "Christian Dior" property in Montauroux (France) would meet your needs nicely. I can vouch for it highly, though it has now been six years since I stayed there.

Hi, This is not in the "fabulous 9 bedroom villa department", but for what it's worth; The year before last, our extended family went on holidays together - six siblings, spouses, our 20 children (15 boys 5 girls, aged 19-4), grandma (aged 84) and grand-uncle. We went to France, and five of us rented mobile homes (Americans call them trailers) on a really good campsite with a water park, disco, bar, restaurant etc. and the sibling with no children, grandma and grand uncle stayed in the hotel attached to the site. It was a tremendous holiday, and we all had a certain amount of independence and privacy, but could spend as much time together as we liked, and needless to mention, all the children had the most wonderful holiday ever, as they all get on really well, and everyone had several of their own age. Do they have those sort of parks in U.S.A(if that is where you live)?

While searching for a rental in the Dordogne, I came across this property, www.lesmilandes.com, that looked promising for a large group.
