Has anyone ever been on a Baltic Sea cruise in June?
My husband & I along with another couple are going on a Baltic Sea cruise the middle of June & we were wondering what the weather would be like. Our travel agent said the temps could be anywhere from 50-60 degrees in the daytime & down in the 30's & 40's at night. However, others have told us that daytime temps could be "spring-like" reaching anywhere from high 60's to high 70's. And, nighttime temps from mid 50's to mid 60's. So, we're confused & don't know what to pack! Could someone give us some advice!

We went during the 1st week in July and it was coolish most every day (light jacket for walking around), on poured one day in Sweden and we were glad we brought our umbrella. The warmest days were when we docked in St. Petersburg....it probably hit low 70's and very sunny. It will be variable for sure. Marcie

Here's a web site that I find invaluable for checking on what lind of weather to expect all over the world.
http://worldclimate.com/
You can put in the ports of call and check on the average temp, average highs and lows, and rainfall for the month you are traveling.

Hi Christina -

My wife and I did a 21 day cruise and tour of the Baltic last July (2001). I can tell you that it was very warm and sunny every single day (but for some reason the weather gods smile on us every trip!)

The sea was as flat as a mirror the whole 2 weeks of the cruise part of the trip, and we were in short sleeve shirts every single day! (and in shorts most days as well... except when where we were (place) or what we were seeing made shorts culturally inappropriate.

The one and only time we were the slightest bit cool was when we day tripped to a small island, up the lake from Stockholm and the winds were up coming off the water.

If you have half as good a time as we did you'll be in "hog heaven" as we say in the South ;>

Best wishes for a great trip!

Barry

We were on a Baltic cruise two years ago in June. I agree with other posters, weather will be variable. Most ports I wore a close fitting t-shirt, a long sleeve cotton overshirt and my light weight waterproof jacket (Eddie Bauer) with a hood. Before I left home I thoroughly sprayed my fabric purse with waterproof spray and was very happy to have done so. Also, brought good waterproof walking shoes.

If you are prepared, a little rain will not hamper your sightseeing!

It was a wonderful cruise. Enjoy!
