Thanks to all who replied. I'm a bit naive about many up-scale brands. Have to say I've never even heard about Goyard. So I guess I have to do some homework in what is IN.

Between the exchange rate, and the possibility of paying duty on it when you return you may be better off shopping for such at home.

Anna Isa, unfortunately November is too early for the winter sales.

I bought a Gucci bag at the Florence store in Via Tornabuoni. It was in early July during the summer sales. The discount was a cool 50%. Ferragamo, Tods and Celine (same street) had similar 50% sales on some of last season's articles. My advice is to find out when the winter and summer sales take place, because most of the big brands (exception made of Goyard and LV) offer the same 50% off reduced price.
I think that winter sales start around early January and summer sales start in early July.
