Greece Cyclades ferry / itinerary help
Hi everyone,
I am planning a trip to Greece and plan to fly from Tel Aviv to Greece on June 10th and go back to Israel probably on the 23rd. My plan is to fly immediately to Santorini, and then work my way to Paros, then Mykonos, then back to Athens for a day or so before departing. From what I can tell on the Blue Star website there isn't a ferry running between Paros and Mykonos until June 25th. Does that make sense, or am I just missing something? If there is not a ferry, what do you recommend doing? I can also do the islands in another order. If that is the case, what would you guess is the price difference between taking a ferry from Santorini to Piraeus versus flying back to Athens?
Thank you!
Abby

The Blue Star runs that route only during the high season. If you look at http://www.gtp.gr/, you see three companies: Sea Jet, Hellenic Seaways, and Blue Star - staring June 25th evening.
If you start your trip in Santorini on June 23rd, would you not be doing the Paros-Mykonos after Blue Star starts operating?
I did this route in September and missed the Blue Star high season schedule by one day, so I took a Hellenic Seaways boat.

Greg's post is correct, but he missed the part that you will be flying back to Israel on June 23rd. You (and he) are correct that Blue Star won't be running on that route until June 25th.
Truth is, that route is so short it really doesn't matter which ferry you take, and Paros - Mykonos has always be served mainly by highspeeds anyway. Most days while you are on Paros there will be several leaving for Mykonos around the same time in late morning. Buy your tickets when you are on Paros, that way you will have the latest ferry information. I've been let down a couple of times by Sea Jets, and it's easiest to exchange tickets from the agent you bought them from.
I prefer Hellenic Seaways over Sea Jets. Hellenic Seaways Highspeed 7 is undergoing a complete renovation, and will be like a spanking new ferry when it starts the season this year. That's the one I would opt for if running that day.
