Got one day in Paris

My family and I have 24 hours in Paris and it's our first visit. Suggestions on how to spend it wisely? Thanx.

start with a cruise on the seine to get a sense of the city and some of the prominent buildings. then visit the main landmarks: the cathedral notre-dame, the eiffel tower, the place de la concorde, at least one of the bridges over the river (such as the pont alexandre or pont neuf), and the tuileries gardens. have lunch at a café in the st-germain area, then dinner at a bistro in the area of your hotel. if the day is sunny, head straight for the sainte-chapelle in the morning to see the light streaming through the glorious stained glass.

thanx, underhill. I'm new to fodors, so just placed this message again because I didn't know how it worked. Sorry for the repeat, all.

You may want to jump on one of the bus tours (on and off double decker buses) to get an overview of the city and then go back and walk - along the Seine, to Notre Dame, the Louvre. Fat Tire Bike Tours are fun. Grab a snack or a meal at a sidewalk cafe and people-watch. Be sure to have a nutella crepe. Have fun - Paris is magical!

You're welcome--easy trick to miss until someone has told you about it.
