I'm leaving around noon tomorrow to start making my way to Paris for the first time and all alone! I'm much more excited than nervous, thanks in good part to the very helpful people here. Thanks for all the answers, tips, and recommendations. I hope to provide a trip report when I return.

I wish I could meet you in Paris on Friday but actually I will have parisians coming to Dijon on that day for the week end!
So I'm afraid you'll really have to go down to Dijon someday ;-)

g33grl - Have a wonderful time. I have been to Paris 3 times and each time has been solo. I have loved every trip there but I have to say my 1st trip, for many reasons, was the most memorable. I kept a journal with me so I would remember it in detail. Just yesterday I read it again and it brought all those wonderful memories to the surface again.

Again, have a wonderful time and how much fun it will be to be meeting fellow fodorites.
