I'm looking for a decent, cheap ($100 max) hotel near termini. I understand that someareas around thestation are OK and some arne't. Obvious, I'd prefer the ones that are. Thanks.

Termini doesn't mean station, even though it sounds like terminal. The station in Rome is called Stazione Termini because it is near the baths (terme) of Diocletian.<BR><BR>The Hotel Italia on Via Venezia is about 10 minutes walk from Termini in a safe area, decent and affordable.<BR><BR><BR><BR>

Nan,<BR><BR>You also might try Hotel Cavour on Via Cavour. It's only a few blocks from Termini station. (It's on the safer side of Termini.) It's nothing fancy, but is clean and reasonably priced.
