I gagged as soon as the phrase "stroll along the Champs-Élysées" showed up. Does no one walk there?

Hi CIGALACHANTA,

Good simple advice, especially for first timers.

I have no illusions - I am a tourist and don't pretend to be otherwise, always trying to be respectful, appreciative, and cooperative with those in my host country. No problems either.

No, AJ, it is a requirement to stroll.

One of the first things I did in Paris the first time was head to stroll along the Champs Elysees and I still do it every time I'm in Paris - always something interesting in the fancy auto dealers, upscale boutiques. etc.

Hallelujah. It is good advice and not exclusive to Paris. A pity Fodor's doesn't have stickies. If they did this should be at the top of the Europe forums.

Pal, I am about as ignorant of computers as one can be and still be sentient, but even I know what a sticky is.

Good advice which I think most tourist would do.
Yep it's a nice long walk from le Concorde to the Arc de Triumph ( Champs Elysees)

I thought it was a good article - but it's a shame that it probably won't show up on Trip Advisor - the people who really need to read this sort of thing won't see it...

I liked the phone "laying" on the table. I wonder what an iPhone egg looks like. Apple shaped, no doubt

I've met the author of the article and we discussed tourism in Paris and what he wrote is pretty much what we talked about, and then some.

I prefer to amble, mosey, saunter, or traipse. On occasion I may even gallivant, although I have resisted the rare temptation to sashay. But I refuse utterly to stroll. No, sir! I'd rather limp!
