Germany - Whit Monday

Hi all,

We depart Sunday for our trip to Germany and in doing some last minute checking of details, I realized that we arrive on Whit Monday. We planned to tour the Residenz and a few other sights in Wurzburg. From what I can see on the website, there is no mention of sights and museums being closed. Has anyone traveled in this area of Germany over Whit Monday before? Were the sights indeed open during the normal opening hours?

Thanks very much for any insight,
Jill

Whitmonday is an official holiday, and therefore everything will operate on a Sunday schedule. If something is closed on a sunday it will be closed.

If you are talking about the Residence in Munich there are two tours (morning and Afternoon) that tour different parts of the palace.

I was referring to the Wurzburg Residenz and Dom.

The Residenz says it is open daily so theoretically, it should still be open?

Thanks for the help

Thank you logos!
I'm so relieved. This is my parent's first trip to Germany and I have been wanting them to see the Tiepolo fresco for years since it is one of my favorites. I'm so happy the Residenz will be open

Try to catch the English tour at the Residenz - daily at 11am and 3pm.
