Georgian House Hotel London
Has anyone stayed in this hotel recently - I have done a search and read many old threads which are very varied - so hoping someone has a more recent account.
The query is for my son who is on a budget and thinks the location close to Victoria Station would be good.

I always try and stay at Georgian House hotel. If your son is fit, and can walk up about 5 flights of stairs, have him e-mail the hotel and request a "student room". You can only inquire about these rooms through the hotel. They are super cheap, but you share the bathrooms. Not a problem because they keep it sparkling clean. I've never had a problem, which is why I keep coming back. The breakfast downstairs in the breakfast room can not be beat. The cold breakfast is free (and unlimited), but I have always got a coupon from the front desk with my room to get a free hot breakfast (eggs and sausage). One time I saw a women who didn't get one and had to pay for her hot breakfast. I don't know how that happened to her, so I made a mental note to make sure I received one the next time I stayed there.
The hotel is a few blocks from Victoria Station and the Coach Station. I love this area because it becomes quiet (but safe) at night. There is even a laundromat and a supermarket a few blocks away.

Thank you very much for your reply about the Georgian House Hotel. It is so good to have some up to date information.
I might add my son is 35 and I don't usually do his travel arrangements - but he is due in London to be best man at a wedding in June and as he and his wife have a very new baby I am doing some investigation for him!
He is very fit and I am sure could cope with the stairs.

Just to report that my son was very pleased with his stay at the Georgian House Hotel - the location was excellent about 3 mins from Victoria Station. His room was very small but spotlessly clean, as was his bathroom. His rate of 50GBP included a full cooked breakfast. There was also internet access for guests. Rooms are sometimes available on Wotif for 30GBP without breakfast.
