Geode at Parc de la Villette

Hi. Geode looks intriquing to photograph. There's no charge to see it, is there? If I take Metro to the park, will I be able to get to where it is and photograph it easily? Thanks.

Not from the outside, no, there's no charge, and yes, it's extremely easy to find from Métro Porte de la Villette - just walk up to, and round the right-hand side of, the Cité des Sciences.

Yes, no problem to see it -- it sits in the middle of the park.

It looks like there are two metro exits at or near the park. Does anybody know which one to take so that I'm closest to the Cite Des Sciences?

Take the Porte de la Villette exit on the number 7 line. After photographing the Geode, walk across to the other side of the park. There are some wonderful "follies"--oversized bike parts, fanciful gardens, etc.--worth photographing, and other things to explore. You can cross all the way to the other side of Villette and get the Metro at the Porte de Pantin station on line 5.

It doesn't matter whether you go to Porte de la Villette (closest) or Porte de Pantin (on the other side of the canal de l'Ourcq) because you are sure to want to check out more of the park than just the Géode.
