Gatwick to Knightsbridge, alone with luggage.

I am going to stay a couple of days in London before meeting up with friends for our trip to France. I will be arriving at Gatwick and want to stay at a hotel in Knightsbridge, what are my options? I arrive in the early afternoon.

jelane,

Knightsbridge is a really nice area. If you are looking for a place to stay I would recommend the following hotels:

The Knightbridge Hotel
The Carlton Tower
The Capital

If you like to shop, then you are in for a treat. Harrods, Harvey Nichols, and H&M are located in Knightbridge, it is also a walking distance to the Albert and Victoria Museum, Chelsea and Buckingham Palace.

The seafood bar at Harrods is great!

Sorry I did not make myself clear, I have the hotel, I just need to know what is the easiest and best way to get from Gatwick Airport to Knightsbridge area. Taxi or Limo service, I will be alone with luggage so not sure if the express would be the best thing to do...

I'm no expert in this area, but I think your best bet, considering both time and money, would be to take the Gatwick Express to Victoria and then taxi to your hotel. Both taxi and/or limo would be more costly not to mention taking considerably longer.

Obviously the Tube would be cheaper once you get to Vic Station, but with much luggage it would also be much more of a hassle.

The Gatwick Express is your best bet into the city w/ luggage. There are other slightly cheaper/slightly slower trains that also connect LGW and Victoria - but they are crowded commuter trains and w/ luggage they can be a real pain.

Then once you are at Victoria it is a short cab ride to Knightsbridge.

DO NOT book a car service in from LGW - it will be very expensive and VERY slow.
