Ash, the web site of the Garmisch-Partenkirchen Tourist Office lists all current events till July 19. I suppose they will update regularly. Check in later, before you leave.

Next to hiking, you'll will find a lot of useful information there. Click English flag and then "Events". However, that part is in German, but you will be able to see that there is a lot on. Don't worry. Summer entertainment is guaranteed.
Have fun!

http://www.garmisch-partenkirchen.de

First of all: Get a car.

Then use the car to explore this beautiful area.

The castle at Linderhof is beautiful in the summer.

Cable car to the top of the Zugspitz.

Ettal Abby.

Wood carvings of Oberammergau.

Trip through Austria to Neuschwanstein Castle and up to Wies Church.

Over the hill to Innsbruck for the day.

Mittenwald.

Hike the gorge at Partennach (sp).

Ice skating at the arena.

And on and on and on. Great area and beautiful in the summer months.

Bob has made very good suggestions. Let me add two places to visit near Wieskirche. There is an outstanding rococo church at Rottenbuch not far from the intersection of the road from Wieskirche and the one to Oberammergau. There is another pretty church at Steingaden near the intersection of the road from Fussen and the road to Wieskirche.
