Gare du Lyon to CDG Airport

We'll be staying across the street from Gare du Lyon for one night upon our return from Beaune to Paris. The next day we return to the US from CDG Air France departing at 1:30 PM.

What is the best way to get to CDG from Gare du Lyon? What time should we leave the area to arrive at CDG in plenty of time to check in to our flight?

Pretty sure there are direct RER trains from Gare du Lyon to Terminal 2 at CDG - VAL people mover connects to terminal 1 - what could be easier? figure max one hour to get to flight area - look at RER schedules - there are direct ones I believe but you may have to change from one platform to an adjoining one at Chatelet-les-Halles or Gare du Nord - but I believe some go direct Lyon to CDG. www.ratp.fr - the Paris metro/RER site for schedules.

If we = 2 people, a bus is one option http://www.aeroportsdeparis.fr/passa...-france-ligne4

Notice the address of the bus station at Gare de Lyon. It is a big station.

If we > 3 people, a taxi would be competitive.

Arrival time at the airport is airline dependent. They usually make you dig through the airline web site to find out their expectations.

Land transporation can be great deal but leave much more of a fudge factor time as Paris' horrible traffic can keep things moving at a snail's pace - especially on the autoroute to CDG IME of driving it many many times on business.

There's a direct Air France bus service from Gare de Lyon to CDG. Their Line 4 from Gare Montparnasse to CDG makes a stop on Boulevard Diderot in front of the Gare de Lyon.

Here's a Google Street View of the stop -

Do be sure to leave plenty of time, but I'd take the Air France bus also, it's a little nicer and more comfortable journey (and less trouble as you'd have to transfer on the RER).

I don't know what the reference is to a direct train from Gare de Lyon to CDG, that's two different RER lines.

There is no direct RER service from Gare de Lyon to CDG. If there are one or two of you, the Air France bus #4 is direct to CDG and costs 17.50€. If there are 3 or more of you, I would take a taxi from the station; cost should be around 50€ to 55€.

Allow 1 hour en route to CDG and plan on arriving 3 hours before scheduled takeoff. I would depart Gare de Lyon no later than 09h30.

No I was remiss in saying there may well be a direct train - I was getting mixed up with Gare du Nord which has direct trains to Lyon (I think!) and the switch from RER from Lyon to those to the airport, some of which terminate at Nord is IME of many trips from on platform to an adjoining one - no stairs to climb, etc. Tnaks for clarification of my brain malfunction.

PQ: Your second guess was correct, so far as the RER linking the Paris Nord and Gare de Lyon stations: 9 minutes on RER D. You can see it here: http://www.ratp.fr/itineraires/en/ra..._type=1&avoid=
As a veteran traveller I expect you know the RATP site is essential for navigating Paris public transit. We can share it with others here: http://www.ratp.fr/en/ratp/c_21879/visiting-paris/

Thanks. This was very helpful. We'll probably take the Air France bus to CDG.

Depending on your flight time it might make more sense to go from Beaune to Lyon to catch the TGV that goes directly to CDG.
