I'm probably a bit late for this but I'm also a descendant of John Ayer Lines. A couple of years ago I went to chipping warden ( hire car). I spent a lot of time in the cemetary around the church and located John ayers Lines fathers and mothers graves. The church was closed every day but I attended a service on the Sunday and had a cup of tea with the small group of parishioners and was able to have a quick look around the church. Having the car meant I was able to travel to Byfield and a few other places which are mentioned in our family history book. It was great. I'm in Europe again and hoping to get to the village again to show my son his ancestors graves. I would recommend the hire car option. There is nowhere to stay in village and it's about 13 miles from banbury.
