Raining all week in Switzerland

HI, We are travelling from June 30 to July 9th and most of the days the weather shows its raining/thunderstorm/light rain. Do you guys think we should cancel/postpone our trip or it will not be that bad?

where are you going in Switzerland? Are long-range forecasts that accurate? Hard to believe it would rain for 12 days straight - but it has in recent years done just that!

Just checking Wiki shows that it rains regularly in Switzerland. You can get regular thunder storms, daily even. I think you just have to suck it in and go for it.

The weather forecast says there will be a few sunny spells between the rainshowers - so, it will not be that bad.

If the weather is bad visit the cities and the museums. Stay at a nice hotel with a spa and an indoor pool.

We went Switzerland in April. It rained every day but the last when we were so happy to go up to the peaks of Engleberg.

On the rainy days, it usually was off and on. We walked along the vineyards on Lake Geneva. We went to Basel for the museums, as a day trip. Walked through Bern (stayed there for 4 days). Wonderful city. Took trains to different towns. Took the boat along Lake Lucerne all the way to the end (Unersee). Next day took that boat again, but as a shorter trip.

Just have a "Plan B" schedule if your outdoor activities don't pan out. We were not happy with the weather, but we made the best of it.

What are your plans? Where are you staying?

We have 2 kids (6 month old and 5 year). We are staying in Bern for 5 nights and 3 nights in Zurich. (Was hoping to do day trips from there to different places)

Well, I guess with children those ages, museums might not be the way to go.

Children will like the Bears in Bern. Also for the older one - there are so many chocolate shops in Bern. Beautiful.

Why have you decided to with a 6 month old?

I'm wondering where you got the weather forecast from. Here's the official Swiss weather institute's website:
http://www.meteoschweiz.admin.ch/web...lprognose.html

They predict a mix of clouds and sun with a few rain showers for most of the week. That's not too bad, I'd say.
