Best internet site for weather forecasts in Switzerland

We are ten days away from our trip to Switzerland. Spending 3 nights in Wengen, 2 nights in Zermatt, and 3 nights in Montreux. As we are trying to figure out temperatures and weather forecasts, what is the best site to use for weather in Switzerland. I find sites like weather.com are not really very accurate and informational for Europe (and specifically Switzerland). What do the locals use? And which site will best keep away the rain while we are there?!?! ;-)

Hi mjknycmjk,

You should first be warned that it's practically impossible to predict the weather for mountain towns (Wengen & Zermatt). I live in a mountain town (not as high as those two though), and I can tell you that anything more than 24 hours ahead is a crap-shoot. And even that 24-hour prediction can be wrong.

For example, it was sunny and bright all morning yesterday and into the afternoon, and the weather predicted a few periods of rain for today. Then, we got some storms and rain yesterday afternoon, and the prediction for today changed to rain all day. So, the prediction was only accurate when it was about 12 hours ahead.

Having said that, I think many Swiss people rely on Meteo Swiss:

Have fun as you plan!

Go with the best, expect the worst and always have Plan B.

Welcome to Switzerland.
