Free guided walks in London 31/1 to 1/2.

That's the weekend of 31st January for those confused by the correct notation.

There are a programme of walks across the Capital on these weekend, some just for the pleasure of walking and others themed around wildlife, history, architecture and so on.

All free. Just thank TFL.

info here:

How considerate you are for posting this!!
A real gentleman.

I beg your pardon. He's no gentleman - he's a copper.

Been waiting a long time to use that line!

Cynthia, could you please explain your post, which certainly sounds inflammatory, but I have no idea if it really is? What do you think is wrong with CW's post (nothing that I can see)?

I think Cynthia was teasing Chumley.

Chumley, what is TFL? I couldn't see it on the site.

Of course I was teasing him. His original post was very kind with no sign of the usual sparkling repartee that makes his posts such a pleasure. Just the straight facts about the walks.
BTW, I think he was thanking the new mayor of London.

Does anyone recognize my original line about the copper?
It is from a very popular movie set in London and every since I heard it, I wanted to use it about Mr. Warner.

Thanks CW for the link.

And thanks, Cynthia, for the explanation (I guess if I recognized the line, I would've realized you were teasing -- sorry for taking your post the wrong way).

I think the line is from Pygmalion/my Fair Lady.

If so it's a bit of a coincidence, as the part of Eliza Doolitle was actually written for my great aunt Stella. It's the CW's great claim to fame.
